Ive been a long time lurker here, and am finally getting ready to swap a 96 5. 9 into my 99 F350SD. This forum as well as the Cummins conversion forum have been very helpful so far, and now I have a few questions. I am going to rebuild the motor and o-ring the block while it is out of the truck and am going to order a rebuild kit from Cummins. I plan on running 370 injectors and was told by several individuals who are diesel techs that running marine pistons will be more efficient than using automotive pistons. Does anyone have a marine CPL for a 96 5. 9 that I can use to order a rebuild kit and get the right pistons at the same time. Thanks in advance.

Use CPL # 2208, that's is for the 370HP marine engine..... although you'll have a tough time ordering parts with just a CPL #, Cummins like a serial number as well, use 45432843

Does anyone have any experience running the Marine pistons with 370 injectors? Any noticable smoke decreases? Since the bowl is matched to the spray pattern of the 370 injectors I figure it will be a more efficient burn. Just looking for any more feedback on this setup. Thanks.
