5.9 too a 6.7 Need Some help??

Ok I have a 2007 6. 7 engine that I am getting ready too put in a 03 CR 5. 9 with a bad engine I have been told that they the exact same engine when the are stripped down too a long block? Not sure though. I could use some advise on this project if anyone seems too have any or have done this before it looks too be pretty straight forward I already have the 6. 7 stripped down too the bare block I know I will have too change all of the top end like the valve cover wiring and ECM and so on but there all kinds of stuff on the block like the old VV turbo with water jackets and stuff like that. . I've got questions, not help sorry. the thing I want to know is do you have to change out the computer and the wiring . does the computer control the vehicle also is the wiring for that part the same.

The 6. 7 Injectors are calibrated to the factory ECM, the 6. 7 entire communications are different.

"06 and later trucks use CANBUS technology for all the electronics. I'm sure no expert but I would bet the ISB6. 7 ECM, injectors, wiring harnesses, and sensors, possibly even the alternator and starter won't work in an '03.

And I'd be even more confident that the '03 ECM, injectors, sensors, and wiring harnesses won't work on an ISB6. 7.

You are considerbly more brave than I am. I wouldn't even consider trying to swap an ISB6. 7 into an '03 unless I had a room full of engineers and computer gurus to assist with the "minor" problems I think you'll encounter.

I hope you can post here before long to tell me I am wrong.

Just thought I would let everyone know we put the 07 6. 7 in a 03 dodge 3500 4x4 6 speed and it now has 15km iles on it and there has not ever been a light on tin the dash truck runs like top customer very happy. . The 6. 7 is the exact same engine as a 5. 9 you cant tell the 2 apart when you take all of the BS off it and the valve cover. . Thanks
