5.9L cooling system air bleeding procedures

Need to know the procedures for bleeding air out of cooling system after radiator draining. 2006 Ram 2500.

I just removed the thermostat and filled the system to there... replaced the thermostat and filled the radiator and overflow tank. All this with the heater valve on. This drew down the overflow tank abou 1 in. after a week of driving.

I think most systems these days are self bleeding.

On the front of the block, passenger side, are a series of pipe plugs, remove the one fartherest forward and fill system till coolant comes out of it. That should solve any air lock problems and then all you have to do is top the system off.
