Anyone have a good source for a 5" clamp on tip? The one that came with my 5" system from City Muffler Performance was the same OD as the tailpipe and I didn't wanna do a butt weld on it. Could I just try and flare it or make some cuts around the perimeter enough to slip it over and tack in place? Any help/suggestions appreciated.

I know Bullydog has one also, but,I'd steer clear of it. I have one of their 5" angle cuts my 5" that didn't last through the Pennsylvania winter and the chrome has completely peeled off. Its easy to tell it was poor prep work of the metal before it was done just by looking at how it peeled. Good thing I have a friend who has a chrome shop and triple plate... ... ... ... . Andy

I bought my 5" turndown at a local big truck supply shop along with a 4" to 5" coupler and 2 clamps (1-5" clamp & 1-4" clamp) and it only cost me around $55 for everything. I've had it on for over a year and only polished it when I first put it on... ... ... . It won't rust! (knock on wood) :D I'm starting to think it's stainless!

I say look around before buying from some big name company. You could save ALOT of money... ... ... . try to buy a 5"x 18" stainless turndown with clamps and a coupler for $55 through Bully Dog  just my opinion.

Looks like you finally got to work on your truck, sorry I've been so buisy and couldn't help. Now for some fuel...

No worries, Jared. Figured work was keeping you as busy as mine is keeping me. I posted over on CTDCTD inquiring about anyone being available this Friday/Saturday. I got my new box from Quadzilla in and wanna get it put in but not before I get my guages in.

Anyone try one of the resonator tips that Casey sent a link for? Looks good but what about the sound?

Wardog,

I'll let you know, just ordered one. Going to put the 4" system on next week.

I have a 5 inch resonator tip, welded on to my 4 inch straightpipe. It really makes a difference in the sound. When we did my exhaust I held the tip up to the pipe a few times and it is amazing that just a tip could change the exhaust tone like that, it took away the raspiness and gave it a deeper tone at idle. I would definately use one again.

How about in cab noise, any change there?

Learning how to post pics on the forums. Hope this works. If it does this is a pic of my Rip Rook 5" exhaust and 6" silverline tip
