Did anyone catch the article in the most recent TDR ? The earth roamer CTD injection pump shelled out and it cost just shy of $5,000 to fix. I think it was done at a dodge dealer so that explains some of the high cost, but WOW!

I have never had it done but that did include the injection pump, lift pump and installation. It may have been a rush deal that had to be paid for also. It is hard to tell.

Lift pump, around 150, injection pump, around 1100, install, 6 hours max... . rush or not, that is way high. i would install at three am on christmas eve for 5000 dollars.....

We all have sources that sell the VP for $1000-1500. However, I asked a dealer what a new VP costs a few months back. He told me rebuilds were not available, only NEW pumps. They wanted right at $3000 for the VP!!!!! I said "thanks" and left.

Even at 3000 for a new vp how much labor would that be to install a vp and a lift pump, lets assume that the lp was 300 with this dealers markup and labor was 100 per hour. 17 hours of labor for a vp/lp install and that is a 5 star dealer. Maybe they charged extra for the fancy camper.

I know I am in the wrong forum, but what would a P7100 cost that I have on my truck?

Depends if it a "stock" rebuild or modded and how much fuel it is setup to push.

I have seen EEP built pumps in the TDR classifieds for $1550.

BTW, I used to live not to far Webster City. :)

WOW we are missing the boat I guess! We don't charge anything close to those prices. That is truely amazing. I don't remember exact prices for all the components to make a pump out of new parts but I know this. It wouldn't be that much! Thanks, Brady

Brady,

Your customers are your best advertisement... good or bad. Several of us think the dealer "stuck" someone and we are talking about it. Gee, why do so many of the fellows want to change the first letter in the word "Dealer" to St..... ?

On the other side, treat your customers right and they will also advertise for you!!!
