Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 5 Inch Tail Pipe

Well got the twins in and loved them until the I had the local muffler shop run my 5" pipe and they made a sorry attempt at connecting the 5" into the 3" duals on my truck. That killed the twins. They tried to put a 5 to a single 3" opening in the 3" y pipe "dorks". I am wondering if the 3" duals will allow the twins to spool properly or should I just install a 5" tail pipe and be done with it. I have always liked the sound of the duals and would like to preserve the inital investment as well. Any input is appreciated. Any recommendation on a 5" tail pipe supplier is also appreciated.

5" is the size of 4" plus 3".

Rip Rook at sorce automotive has a nice 5" system. I had one on my 96, Nothing better than a ricer asking where you got the 5" tip from, Then telling him its that big all the way up kid!

Ahhh just keep it one pipe, 5" with 6" tip! I can almost fit a rice burner in there!
