5" muffler needed

Ive got a 5" straight pipe exhaust and its getting kind of annoying. 4" downpipe to 5" flexpipe, to 5" straight pipe, to 5" flex, to the 5' tip. What can I put in there to quiet this thing down. Its been cool for awhile but now the wife is getting feed up and my children hate riding in the truck with me because its too loud. What would you recommend???

just get a resonator from walker, nelson, or donaldson. we sell 3. 5 & 4" resonators as mufflers at my race shop. we've dyno tested them and had no HP lose. only about 10" long and 8" round.

what will a resonator do to the sound out the tailpipe?? What will it do to the sound in the cab?? Install it as far forward as possible right?? Do you have them in 5"?

not sure about the sound. never had it on a diesel. it might act just like adding a Kat but not too sure. might tone it down a little. otherwise you can put it wherever you want i think. in place like a muffler. i can check and see if i can get a 5" for ya and get back with you later. i think we sell them for $170 but not sure what we pay for them. i'll just give you the price on what we pay.

Hey Chad,

I went down to the Mac dealership and bought a 5" semi muffler for $58. It's 9" diameter and 44" long, but it works great, the cab is quiet, but the exhaust still has a good sound. I would go to a either KW, MAC, or Peterbuilt and see what they have.
