Does anyone have a diagram or can tell me how much and where to grind my 5 plate to make it a 0 plate? What hp/tq #'s can be expected (guess)? My pump is a 215.

Thanks,

Damon

Can you elaborate more on this? Like do you have a picture or diagram on what the grinding job is supposed to look like?? I have a couple extra plates laying around that I would like to grind down and make my own custom plate, but don't know where the best place and how far to grind on.

Thanks, Joe

If you live in any civilized area a 0 will smoke way to much. Take the plate out and drive. If you like it then cut a 0 plate.

Ok, but what does a 0 plate look like for my grinding reference?

hey jgheen... . got a spare plate you wanna part with? I`d like to do a bit of grinding myself, but to a #10 profile... pm me if you`d like to get rid of one...

thanx

the plate in my truck was spose to be a zero. then after looking at it it became suspect... . then talked with Mr Forrest ;) so i took a picture and emailed it to Harry at Piers.

had to order a headgasket today and asked him what he thought it was. well he had never seen one like it. he said someone probably tried to make a zero and went a bit too far and got part of it wrong. not a zero and i asked him about grining it flat. he called that a rack stop. The tst zero has some sort of profile to it.

i just gave up and ordered the dumb thing so i can put the thing to rest.

we will have to come up with a clever name for Mr Forrest's 0 plate...

J,

Sorry, man, I only have my stock plate and a Banks Otto mind plate and I plan on keeping the stock plate and grinding the Banks. If I had others I would definately give ya one but only got 2 extras.

Doesn't anyone have a pic or illustration of what the 0 profile looks like? I would just go and grind it, but not sure how far is too far to grind. I don't want to grind too far and ruin the plate.

If you're gonna order one, consider giving Joe D a PM about a #100. I crafted the design, Joe built it & numbered it. What I wanted is a #10 on the low & #0 on the high end.

It's not as obscene as the #0 on the low end but gives you the #0 on the top end.

I actually believe acceleration is better with the 100. Fueling isn't as gross, maybe that's why. However, EGT IS way less.

What you'll notice with the #0 is you build EGT way fast & it doesn't go down until you get outa the throttle. Basically, you can't use the top end of the #0 because of all the built up EGT. Thats in a 215 pump with Mach 3's. With the 100, gobs of fuel is there on the low end but not the EGT. That way, you go into the high rpm range with less built up EGT. That was my thought in the design & hey, it worked. Oo.
