5 speed auto

I was on Dodge's website and noticed that you can get a 5-speed auto in a 1500. I'm not sure if this is the first year for it but maybe it won't be long before they build them for the Heavy Duty trucks.

It's the same 545RFE that's available with the Hemi in the HD trucks. Can't handle the V10 or Cummins torque, though.

Gentlemen,

As referenced in the latest TDR Quarterly, beginning 1 Jan 03, you can order the 48-RE 4-speed auto transmission w/ the HO 5. 9. It is supposedly a beefed-up version of the 47-RE made to handle the increased torque.
