OK, spend the time to somewhat debomb the truck and take it to the dealer. I write them a long description of my radiator problem and explain that I replaced the cap with no improvement of the problem. So at 4 O'clock they finally call and say that the problem is the cap but they have to ORDER one and it won't be fixed till tomorrow. DOH If that even fixes it which I doubt since I already tried that.

I also tell them the 4 bolts on the steering gear box have come loose twice and could the please check and torque them down to specifications. Their response, we ordered you a new power steering pump cap. Dorks.

My local 5 star dealer you need help, BAD.

The did, I guess cause I ain't got the truck back, the clock spring, probably put the steering wheel back on backwards or something.

And they can't find the oil leak but they did put in ultraviolet dye so who knows.

Just remember that your "5 Screw" dealer had to EARN thoes SCREWS through customer DISsatisfaction.

I'm still waiting for someone to post about a 5* losing their truck. Or better yet having them sell it as used.

I don,t know about loosing a truck but I was a my dealer about 3 months ago getting my mom's car and a woman came to get her jeep and it took them 45 minutes to find it.

You should have seen the look on that woman's face when they told her they couldn't find her jeep.

Glad I don't take my truck there any more. :D:

My local 5* dealer sold my poor uneducated broter a rear end flush(yes you heared me right) @ $65 for his 15k service

needless to say i'm not going there, they are still working on his overheating problem since brand new!!

Bill,

Does having to go to the dealer to get your truck before a 3 day weekend (New Years a couple of years back) count? Took the '96 in to Glenn Thomas Dodge in Long Beach (yes, DieselFest sponsor & the same service mgr that hung up on me) to have the rear slider replaced due to leakage around the frame. Nobody from service calls to say the truck is ready. So about 2:30 on Friday afternoon my dad heads over their to see what the deal is - service dept is closed. No one bothered to tell us that they were closing early & we specifically stated that we had to have truck back that day - parents were leaving to drive back home on Sunday. Dad finds the last salesman in the showroom (poor ******* was locking up) and makes him find his keys and go search the lot for the truck. My dad was soo damn pissed... ...

My so called 5 star dealer is a joke. I had a warranty issue with my paint and got it approved to fix the defect. So he told me be here at 7:30 am sharp so we can get it done. So I drive over there and throw my bike in the back it about a 10mile trip each way. I drop off my truck and ride home and at 4:30 I ride back to pick up the truck, and now its 103 degrees. So get there pouring sweat, and tired as hell. I ask to get my truck and he goes back to the garage to get it, and he comes back and says "ah we didnt get to it today can you bring it back at the end of the week" OMG I lost it big time. I went on and on and made a bit of a sceen and was very pissed to say the least. I still have not taken it back and got it fixed nor do I plan too.

Sky - Good Work!!!

If more people did what you did and raised Cain, they wouldn't do it as much. I would make an appointment with the service MANAGER and spend at least 20 minutes of his time describing in intimate detail how it screwed up your day. I would make sure that they understand your time has value and that if something like that happens again, you expect compensation. Also, I would press for a free loaner, you already "paid" for the ride for the day.

Also, when you pick it up, go over it in minute detail (with the bodyshop manager) and show them any defect or new damage you find. If there is any, again, expect a loaner car and free repair. The are probably already a little fearful that you will come back. You return will (usually) get you good service to prevent the scene from happening again.

This is different from people who like to yell because it always works to get their way. I used to let them twist in the wind. :D

I had stopped by my local dealer to pick up a part for my 89ctd and noticed that they had a new v-10 4x4 xcab white truck sitting there. (this was the time the v-10 were new and desirable) My buddy had said he wanted one so i called him up and he drove down to the dealer. test drove it loved it helped him negotiat a good price and paid cash and he drove it home. the next day the dealer calls him and informs him that there is a serious defect in his truck and he needs to return it asap. he calls me and tells me this and i smelled a rat so i called the dealer to ask for the specific's and they gave me a song and a dance so i infor them that they are not getting the truck back and to have a nice day.

15 minutes later the sales mgr calls him he refers him to me and this guy fesses up to say that this truck was the first v-10 that they had had and that was a special order that had been on order for 8 months!!!! and that the owner came down to pick it up the morning after we bought it and was flaming mad and was threatening legal action :p I told the sales mgr that had he been up front and honest that we would have returned it right away but becuase they lied thru his teeth that he could pound sand!!!!!! i felt sorry for the other guy but i was so pissed off at the dealer that i wanted to see legal action come there way.

There are two morals to this story 1 dont trust a dealer farther than you can kick them. 2 don't let a custom ordered truck sit at a dealer for 1 minute longer than it has too!!!!!

fun story but reliving it has made me pissed off again:eek:

great truck too bad it got 7 mpg on a good day

The 5 star dealer here is a joke too. I called them with my VIN number so they could order the Clockspring, a few days later they called and said it was in and to come in first thing in the morning so they could replace it. So i woke up at 6:30 and had the truck there right when they opened, i even took the morning off from work in case it would take awhile. After waiting pver an hour, the service manager calls me in and says "sorry, we ordered the clockspring for your wifes Durango, not your Ram". OK, i am not married (or even engaged) and NOBODY in my family even owns a Durango. 3 weeks later they finally got it right.
