Just got back from getting my oil changed--I know I should do it myself but lifetime no mess(I thought)sounded pretty good. After 20 minutes of wiping the frame, front suspension, coolant bottle, right fender, right battery and inner fender of the dripping oil I proceeded to fix the stink problem. Eight feet of 3/4" heater hose routed to behind the transfer case skid plate on the inside of the frame rail in place of the . 20 cent plastic bottle and viola!!---no more stink. Thanks for all the info on the subject. It worked great.

I just completed my first oil change and now I know what everyone else has been complaining about. On my 91 Cummins I never had this problem. How much oil do you guys notice in the breather hose catch bottle? I had at the most an ounce of oil. I was expecting a heck of a lot more than that.

I don't get it... . I didn't have any problem after my first (dealer) oil change. I just changed it myself last night for the first time and I guess will find out - could it be that folks (dealers) are simply puttin in too much oil?
