My truck droped 5th gear, I wrote about it awhile ago, but I drive a work truck and my personal truck never moves. Someone e-mailed a website to me that had a complete kit with transmission and all for the 5 to 6spd conversion. And they also had the "5th gear" problem parts to get it fixed. Can anyone help

Try standard transmission in Fort Worth@800-783-8726 or Blumenthals in OK city.

Quad 4x4 had a conversion but I think they are out of them.

shoot a PM to C Harlan... he did the conversion... . im not sure where he got the 6 speed transmission from, but i know he likes it alot!

The website I was talking about is the Quad 4x4. But yes, they are sold out. I wont have the cash for awhile to do all this fun stuff, but I'm impatiantly waiting, if I even decide to keep this truck. Although if I replace the clutch and transmission, that will take care of alot of problems I am having. Then it will be time for the black smoke to roll! If anyone has any further advice, I'm allways up for reading comments and sugestions, THANKS EVERYONE!

View my mods page below in my signature to see info on my '98 12 valve 6 speed conversion. The kits sold come with parts that are not needed for this year or at least some do so you might want to check into that before you buy the full kit. Anyway all the info about the kits and such is on my site if you want to check it out.

Chris C Harlan got his 6 sp from Blumenthals and if I remember right it only took him a few days to put it together.

I just completed that conversion about two weeks ago. I got the kit from Quad 4x4, but he told me it was his last one. The kit was first rate and all went as planned. It took about two full days taking my time, plus having a lift and trans jack made the work much easier. Is your truck a 4x4 or 2x4? PM me if you like as I live in Cedar Park.

John
