Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 5 To 6 Speed Conversion

Thanks In Advance Guys, I Did A Couple Searches And Couldnt Find Anything.



Two Of My Friends Are Interested In Swapping Thier 2000 & 2001 5 Speeds For The Nv5600. Will Thier Transfer Cases From Behind Thier Nv4500 Work With The 6 Speed? Drive Shaft Modifications? Crossmember Mods? Or Is It Better To Get The 6 Ers T-case Instead?

We did a swap in a 95 and the only mods needed were rear shaft shortened, front shaft lengthened. The transfer case does bolt up. You will need to either modify the transmission crossmember (not as strong) or buy a new one for a 6 spd. I think you can get a brand new crossmember for about $200. There were some other minor mods needed like the hole in the floor needs to be cut out just a little bit bigger. Good Luck, It is worth it.
