50 pin connector woes

I installed my e brake today allong with boost and EGT gauges. everething was going great until I got to the 50 pin connector attachment. First, I nicked one of the adjasent wires ( No. 10 orange I believe) and then I could not get the connector to hook back up. The front side wanted to go on, but the back half did not want to seat down eavenly. I did not want to force it and it was getting dark, so I quit. PLEASE help with reconnection sugestions

I have seen them use WD40 out in the field when putting harness and ECM's togather. We have some special stuff we use out on the line for the ones that dont go togather easy. I will see if I can find out the name of it for you. If you cant wait try the WD40 route.

there is a possibility that you bent some male pins when you disconnected it an they are not slipping into the female pins. try starting the back side first and then work it to the front. You might want to try some dielectric silicon grease ( used on gassers for distributer and spark plug boots ), this will slic it up and prevent corrosion of the pins
