I meant to post this info a long while ago, but since I haven't had any probs w/ my truck in a year, (until now), I haven't had occaision to log onto TDR for a while. (I know. . shame on me). . lol. Early on, after reading many, many threads here and getting informed about diesel operation (was a gas motor guy all my life until about 4 yrs ago), I found that although not many Mechanical pump guys, (P7100?) felt the need for a fuel pressure guage, like the later models (w/ 'electronic' pump), guys. . BUT even w/ the earlier pumps, it's a good diagnostic tool to have. But after looking around I couldn't find a fuel pres guage that I liked w/ an appropriate range. It was either 0-30 psi, (which ain't enough), or 0-60 psi, and none that had the looks I wanted, so I called Hewitt, whose guages I like a lot. . (Nice w/ 2 little green booties on bulbs, they match, very closely, the stock guages)(and I put pyro, boost and fuel pres in 3 guage 'A' pillar mount), and told them I wanted a 0-50 psi guage that more closely matched the range of the truck. Bruce Dankmeyer at Hewitt ordered some special guage faces to be screened (w/ the words fuel pressure on it), and put it on one of their 0-50 psi boost guages, (same mechanical aparatus), and VIOLA. . A beautiful guage, and exactly what I wanted. I highly recommend Hewitt and they have more of these 0-50 psi guages now, if anyone is interested. They're 'after sale' response has been more than gracious and helpful when I needed them and Bruce was always willing to go the extra mile to be sure I was happy with what I had bought. These are the kind of people we should do business with. . JohnG
