Go ahead and say it, what took you so long?

I just got off my lazy butt and installed my 50psi Ultra-Lite gauge and am getting no measurable boost until about 1900rpm's. I thought that the 1/8th line was kinked but it wasn't. I installed the fitting in the square intake tube and used pipe dope for extra insurance. This is just sitting in the driveway reving it just to test the guage itself.

I was gonna wait to road test it when I take the youngins trickin',but the old bag said I shouldn't drive "THAT LOUD THING" and disturb the neighbors any more than I already have. She said that they might not give our kids any candy. I forgot about the other night with me sitting on my remote and sounding off the alarm with the Grovers wailing at 1:00am #ad

I'm gonna give it a whirl in a few minutes. I'll let ya know something when I get back.

I just got back and boy do I feel stupid! Forgive me please, I haven't had the breakfast beer of champions yet.

My boost readings with the Hot Edge in the different levels were:

Level 1: 28psi
Level 2: 30psi
Hot 3: 34psi

I haven't even munked with the boost elbow set screw yet. I'll probably go out and crank it in to just see what it does for the boost.

I'm sure glad I got the 50psi guage! #ad

WOWZY:

Tell me about the Grover install. Was it easy? Where'd you put the compressor/tank/horns? Wired directly to the wheel, horn button, or separate switch. How do you like 'em? #ad

wowzy , i did the same thing when i installed mine , i disconnected the hose and could feel air blowing out , but not enough to read on the gauge ... i have isspro ... with no load the turbo is hard pressed to do any work . having an auto impaired ram , if i put it in gear and stand on the brake and bring up the rpms it will get up to 40 psi #ad

Sasquatch, I had a link to the complete install illustrated by pics. I can tell you that you'll be best to mount the compresser under the pass. side battery tray and the tank under on the frame, near the bed. I wedges the horns up inside the bumper and strapped them to the cross frame. The only thing that I don't like is the shorter of the horns sounds off before the longer one does. I have been meaning to put a pressure gauge on the tank to see if the compresser presser switch is cutting off a too low a pressure. I wired the solenoid to one of the existing oem horn cables,so that I could activate them from just hitting the steering wheel.

Anyone notice their ultra-lite 50 psi guage needle not returning to "0psi" after the engine is shut off? If I flick it with my finger, the needle drops back to "0". Do I need a replacement gauge?

good question illflem , since i don't have a transmission temp gauge as of yet #ad
i would have to say boost ??? , i'll know in a week or 2 ... #ad
