can someone tell me how many year model trucks might have a 53 block?

i suspect it was from 99-01,but not sure. I checked two more 01's one had 55 one had 56. I checked my nephew's 01 today and could'nt find any numbers on the block. on passenger side there was the letter A where the number usually is. so I assume it's ok. can someone clue me in here? thank you.

Hey Cubby how's life in S. Idaho treatin' you? Going to the dyno event May 1st? I plan to show up, hopefully I'll see you there.

The 53 blocks were predominately found in '98. 5, '99 and often 2000 trucks. I think a few '01s had them but not many. '99s seem to suffer from cracked blocks the most.

If you don't find any numbers that's a good thing, those are the best blocks of all since they came from the Mexico foundry and are known to be a harder material block (and you could say they are crack-proof).

So you looking to get into a 2nd Gen?? :D

thanks Vaughn, no I'm not, I'm working on an 01 w/53 block right now, putting everything in a non 53 block.

I won't be able the dyno day. other plans ya know thanks for the info
