Iknow this has been discussed many time's as to where the number is stamped, but what does the tag on the injection pump tell you? I haven't looked too hard on the block of mine, but I did notice the tag on the pump say's "engine # -53XXXX". I don't remember the other number's, but it started with a 53! Is this another easy way to tell what block you have? Since my truck is an '01, I figured my chances were pretty good that I got one :{ . Also the sticker on the valve cover start's with a 53? Anybody else notice this, or is it just a coincidence? Thank's for any suggestion's. :)

Sorry don't know about the injection pump but the 53 on the block is located under the injection pump where the oil pan and block meet. If they are there it's not hard to see about 1" #'s

It will be cast right in to the block. Right where the Mad Bomber mentioned. Driver's side, front, where pan and block meet.
