You can find the stamp on the block on the drivers side below injection pump basically, just above the oil pan. If you do a search, there are plenty of pics of where to look and what to expect... #@$%!

In my case of owning a 1999 with a "53" block you could expect many years of faithful service.

only a handful of trucks have problems w/ the 53 block. you really only need to be worried if you drive fast, tow heavy loads, and or have heavy bombs on ur truck. monitor ur coolant levels, and youll know u have a problem when the levels regularly drop after bein refilled.
