I have a 2000 w/6 speed trans. as of now I have the edge comp, gauges, exhaust, intake, and bully dog pusher pump.

I have just ordered one of south bends duals disc clutches.

what other Upgrades would you recommend

Type of injectors

what turbo/turbos

cams???

water/methanol???

Propane???

Any help from you guys would work. I am trying to learn as much as possible.

Thanks

If you want 550+ hp and still want to tow reliably, I would probably recommend twins. Other than that, it depends what you want to do with the truck. You can do 550 hp+ on a big single turbo, but it probably won't be the best option if you want to tow at that hp level. That said, you could turn down the Comp when you tow as well. A cam is going to help with turbo spool and lower EGTs in general. That would be a good compliment with a turbo but wouldn't be worth it IMHO without a turbo upgrade. As far as injectors, many people have had good luck and great power with F1 (Don's) injectors, but there are many other options as well. Mach 4's (150 hp I believe) would probably get you in the neighborhood. Depends if you want a lot of smoke and what turbo setup you're going to run eventually.

It all comes down to deciding how wild you want to go with the truck and what you're going to use it for (i. e. how heavy you're going to tow). Building a truck that will tow 15k+ lbs reliably at a high power level every day is going to be more intensive than a truck that occasionally tows on the weekends.

Hope that helps.

I am not going to be towing everyday but it will definately be seeing the 15k+ lbs.

As far as my turbo set-up I am planning on starting with a ht2b and then down the line throw a ht3b underneath.

As far as the injectors i was planning on the stage 5 nozzles.

I am still undecided about the water/methanol, propane and the cam.

I'd probably go with a true B2 under that HTB2. It will flow more than the HT3B and will probably be a better match for the HTB2, depending on how big you go on that one. But as you said, that's down the road anyway. Just make sure you don't go too big with the HTB2 (or similar) so it spools decently when you do go to twins.

I'd get an exhaust manifold (ATS, HTT, BD, etc. ) if you don't have one as well.

If you do anything with the combustion assist, I would go with water/meth. Easier, cheaper, and probably less chance of blowing something up.

Highly recommend JR Adkins's hybrid HX-55 like the one I have on my truck. There are others on here as well that have been very happy with JR's products. Customer service is excellent.

Towing at 550hp is a VERY tall order. But it's doable if the 550hp is with everything on kill, and you tow with things turned off.

HOwever, you should STRONGLY consider the impact to your transmission. The 6-speed you have might be a LOT weaker than the 01 and 02 6ers bolted in the HO trucks.

The early 6-speeds had a small 1-1/4" 12 spline input shaft, which could be twisted off; they also had smaller clutches. All the later ones had the beefier 1-3/8th 10-spline input with the bigger clutch.

You can tell which yours is by looking at the starter. If you have the bigger clutch (which is good), it will have a 3/4" aluminum spacer between the starter and the rear housing. If there's no spacer, you have the weak sister.

Anyway, the weak 6-speed is rare, and only on VERY early 2000s. It was phased out in Aug 1999, so almost all of them are 1999 models, but SOME may have made it into the earliest batch of MY2000 production.

As for other stuff, try some Don M mach 6 injectors, a stage 3 water/meth setup, and some twin turbos-- just about any twins will do what you want to do.
