I took my RBW Lil' Rocker 5er hitch out of my Dodge I sold awhile back and want to install it in the '96 CC long bed Dodge I have now. Setting it in place so it is centered over the rear axle as instructed by RBW, the bed supports underneath interfer with the mounting bolt holes on the inside of both the front and rear rails. If I slide it further forward so all clears, it will be to far forward.
Has anyone else run into this issue mounting theirs or? I wondered if you can hole saw into the supports and install the bolts etc. that way or what am I doing wrong? The instructions also state the curbside front bracket will mount under the frame shock mount. If the hitch centerline is directly over the rear axle, then the mount seems to be clear. Any ideas/suggestions from those that have gone before me on this? When I took it out of my last truck (also a '96 longbed, but reg cab) the bolts were all clear of the supports. It was professionally installed when we bought our trailer. It seems the bed supports are different from the regular cab to the extended cab; possibly due to frame length.
Thanks for any help, I guess I am afraid to get aggressive without knowing.
