I am waiting on a quote for Piers twins and I was wondering what kind of 5in exhausts (with or with out a muffler) are available. I'm looking into the brands, there price and how loud.

I've had mine on for a couple of weeks now. I just can't say enough good things about Piers and his crew. Flat out "Top Notch" all the way!

I'm running stacks so I probably hear more in the cab than you would. If your going to run it out the back I don't think you'll need a muffler at all. My stacks were fine in the cab and a little loud under a load so I just added a little 16" Donaldson resonator. Huge difference and you can still hear the turbos thru the exhaust just like a straight pipe. The sound is unreal. The nice part is that you can stand right by the stacks at idle and have a normal conversation but when your on the mat everyone spins around to see what's coming.

If it was me I would try it straight at first. You'll be suprised at how much noise the primary turbo cuts and it's easy enough to add a resonator after the fact.

Who says you can't make a 3rd gen sound like a real truck! :D

I tow on 3x3 without the pressure box on and at that level you shouldn't get any soot, at least I never have. My gloss white trailer is still shiny. Truck pulls like a mule and never drops below 72 mph with 11k in tow even up 6% grades. With the B1 and the 34" Donaldson it sounded great and was just fine in the cab. With the twins and just the 16" resonator it's about the same but deeper and it sounds 100% better. I can still take business calls on my hands free without a problem if that gives you any frame of reference.

What is the maker of said 16" resonator??

I've seen rain caps listed on the net and mentioned in some of the stack threads but I can't find the site. I'll see if I can locate it.

I took mine off. I couldn't stand to be in the truck when hauling. Forrest told me I had a freak truck because of how loud it was. LOVED the sound outside, hated that the sound carried inside the cab.
