Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 5spd fluid change, what fluid and should I use an additive?

going to change my 5spd fluid this weekend, what should I replace it with and are there any additives that are good for it?

I'm surprised nobody has chimed in yet. There are a bunch of differing opinions on this topic. Do a search and you will find some very interesting reading. I've had various Amsoil gear lubes in the transmission for the last 40,000 miles and am very happy with the performance.

Well I did a search after I posted this topic and can see where there was almost an oil war, after reading most of them I think I might try the Amsoil I soon as figure out which I need and where to get it around here (central Al).
