Archived 5th gear gone

My 5th gear went out. No load on it or any reason. I had to drive from Cortez CO. to San Diego CA home in 4th with a max speed of 55 mph. The desert was HOT. Anyway, did I do any damage besides the 5th gear driving it that far? Thanks...

Do a search on the 2nd gen 12 valve engine and transmission forum. The 5th gear problem is an old one and there are a lot of posts about it and how to fix it.

No you did not do any damge to trans.

I have a 3. 54 and in 4rth at 2500 I can do 65 mph.
