Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) 5th gear noise

I have a 96 5 speed with 103000 miles the five speed is very smooth and quite in all gears but fifth, as soon as i let out the clutch theres constant noise and only in fifth. I've read overfilling it is good and i havent done that, is it too late for that and should i take it apart and check the fifth gear nut. Also never had a manual trans apart guess its simple but any diagrams or pics or extra info would be appreciated. Thanks

Checking 5th gear is easy. Drain gear oil. Remove driveshaft. Remove tailhousing at rear of transmission (transfer case if 4x4).



5th gear and its nut is the smaller one on the top shaft.
