5th wheel pin box

I have a long extended pin box on my Jayco 5th wheel that was installed for my short bed truck. Now that I have a long bed truck, I no longer need the long pin box. If someone has a 5th wheel with a medium pin box and would like a long pin box to accomodate a short bed truck, I might be the solution to your want. Jayco uses a "Leland Engineering" chassis as does Sportsmen. Not sure of others. Leland Engineering's web page is...

I had a customer that had the reverse problem. I ordered him an extended pin box from Indiana. My cost with shipping was less than $160. Folks that spend all that money for a sliding hitch when an extended pin box will do the same thing is just throwing away money.

Do you have the 43 inch -- 13,000 pound pin box? When you say medium, I assume you mean the 34 inch --18,000 box. Iam in the reverse situation. I have a Jayco 32 BHS that I towed with a long bed, now I have a short bed. Only problem with working out something is the six states and District of Columbia between us.

Got your message. I have the 13,000 lb 22. 5" pinbox. The medium is 13. 5". Are you measuring the whole box? You're right about the long pinbox. With the tailgate down, I can back my truck up until it latches and still have a couple of inches before the tailgate touches. That and I can get into the storage rooms without moving the truck out of the way. But I'd still like to have a medium pin.

Yes the 22. 5 inches equals 43 from the back of the box.

Sure I understand wanting the medium. I didn't plan on buying a short bed but now that I have on I am glad I have the extra 9 inces. Much cheaper than a sliding hitch. But sorry can't help you out.

I have been usiing a Reese sliding hitch. It seems to make backing so much easier with the hitch behind the axle. My two cents.
