History of Diesel Engines 1952

MAN V8 diesel engine assembly video.

Was driving in to Madison WI at 75mph. Saw a Dodge with a big 5th wheel. I noticed a torn up right rear wheel flair. Then My sister-in-law who was driving. “She said look at the wheel”. There wasn't one. Just running on the rim. She wanted to get away from the rig in case something bad happened. I kept saying we needed to tell him to stop. After pointing and waving out the window. He finely looked at us. I didn't want to be behind him but as we got his attention we slowed a bit and about 50 ft in front of us his left front blow. I didn't see what happened but I'm sure he stopped with being on two rims. At 75mph we were long down the roar in heave traffic in seconds.

There's no substitute for having a TPMS... don't leave home without it!

That reminds me, I need to change all the sensor batteries on my TPMS.

Drop all the weight on one tire and it will go shortly after the first. With the Willpops, it's a given that the remaining tire is toast even if it doesn't pop. There will likely be a big blister on it somewhere.

AND, with 65 MPH ratings on ST tires he was likely well over-speed in addition to overloading. If it was hot outside as well, that too would have been a factor. RV tires are often overloaded and many brands are inferior as well.

I blew 2 Carlisle tires, one on each side, in the Yukon on a trip to Alaska some years back. I knew almost immediately with both but they damaged the RV on both sides anyway. I was driving about 55 mph as I usually do while towing.

I've run ST tires for many years but believe I'll switch to LT next time around.

It was 90 degrees and the tires looked kind of small to me. I have seen 5th wheel with bigger. Kind of hard to tell when doing 75 and trying to get some ones attention.

Forget the Junk So Called Trailer tires anyway run LT tires they have a thicker side wall and more tread .
