Attention: TDR Forum Junkies I think it is time to have some technical specs for oils. So here are the specs for the AMSOIL SYNTHETIC 5W-30 HEAVY DUTY DIESEL OIL. (Series 3000) Perhaps AMSOILMAN will double check these properties. The technical properties are from bulletin G-1301 8/96.
1. KINEMATIC VISCOSITY @ 100 Deg C,cSt (ASTM D-445)= 11. 50
2. KINEMATIC VISCOSITY @ 40 Deg C,cSt (ASTM D-445)= 66. 00
3. VISCOSITY INDEX (ASTM D-2270)= 170
4. COLD CRANK Simulator Apparent Viscosity @ -25 Deg. C, cP (ASTM D-2602)=3150
5. POUR POINT (ASTM D-97)= -60 DEG F.
6. FLASH POINT (ASTM D-92)= 460 DEG F.
7. FIRE POINT (ASTM D-92)= 489 DEG F.
8. NOACK VOATILITY (DIN 51581) 250 DEG C FOR 1 Hour, % weight loss= 7. 8
9. HIGH TEMP/HIGH SHEAR VISCOSITY, cP, 150 Deg C, (ASTM D-4683)= 3. 61
10. FOUR BALL WEAR TEST,40kgf, 150 DEG C, 1800 RPM, 1 hr. , scar diameter, mm (ASTM D-4172)= 0. 39
11. TOTAL BASE NUMBER= 12
12. FALEX TEST = ? I will update this when I get more info on this test.

I am not an AMSOIL dealer but have used Amsoil for over 20 years mainly because of seeing the benefits of Log Trucks using Amsoil Lubricants in our area and seeing the results in my own vehicles and tractors. If any of you folks out there find an error let me know so I can upgrade the chart.
