What can a guy do to a 1992 chevy 6. 5 liter to give it more HP? Is there anything that you can buy and put on it? Just courious any info is apprecated.
Is the 6. 5 turbo charged? If yes then you can turn the fuel scew in the pump 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn to increase power 40-50 hp. You must have guages as it will run Hot (pyro). If the engine is non-turbocharged then you can add one and then turn up the fuel.
Adding a free flowing exhaust and air cleaner will help also.
timing, bosch hi pop marine injectors, intercooler kit, propane injection. [and if it is a light duty model, rip out the egr valve and make a blanking plate for it]
Where can I go and buy upgrades, like injectors? I wouldn't mind having a cummins in it but that isn't tangable for me. When people upgrade to a cummins what kind of transmission do you use, is there some kind of conversion kit out there to install it into a chevy?
but i think i'd end up going to www.kennedydiesel.com . he's been trying to make more power in those engines for a while now. he sells the low comp. pistons and the high pop injectors and intercooler kits. when built, that 6. 5 can make 300hp [not sure if their numbers are rwhp or crank hp]
