Does anyone know what is the correct torque on the cylinder head bolts and exhaust manifold bolts for 6. 7? Is it same as 5. 9? I have a blown head gasket and am going to change it tomorrow. Yes I will not leave the dodge dealer untill they give me the correct torque specs. If no one chimes up ,I will list them here then.
Why do I have a blown head gasket? Confession time: 150,000 on my 2011 6. 7 pulling heavy 5th wheel RVs. I have been using the mini-max tunner on lowest setting with turbo tune. I think the max 36PSI turbo boost may have done it. I am going to remove the turbo tune back to factory specs at max 29PSI and still use the low tunner setting. Even then it still gives me 3MPG over the factory setting.
5. 9 head bolt torque is:
follow seqence to 52FT lbs
back off 1 full turn
sequence all to 77FT lbs
re-check, retorque all to 77FT. lbs
add 1/4 aditional turn, 90 degrees
done
2011 SLT diesel 2wd duelly, 68RFE, 373 rears
Full DPF deletes with H&S Performance mini-max chip
firestone airbags/ on the fly adjust
woodhouse dodge sleeper berth
110 gallon extra aluminum fuel tank
RV hauler
