Does anyone know what is the correct torque on the cylinder head bolts and exhaust manifold bolts for 6. 7? Is it same as 5. 9? I have a blown head gasket and am going to change it tomorrow. Yes I will not leave the dodge dealer untill they give me the correct torque specs. If no one chimes up ,I will list them here then.

Why do I have a blown head gasket? Confession time: 150,000 on my 2011 6. 7 pulling heavy 5th wheel RVs. I have been using the mini-max tunner on lowest setting with turbo tune. I think the max 36PSI turbo boost may have done it. I am going to remove the turbo tune back to factory specs at max 29PSI and still use the low tunner setting. Even then it still gives me 3MPG over the factory setting.

5. 9 head bolt torque is:

follow seqence to 52FT lbs

back off 1 full turn

sequence all to 77FT lbs

re-check, retorque all to 77FT. lbs

add 1/4 aditional turn, 90 degrees

Adding just a bit more; I do not have an EGR cooler installed. I have boubles coming into the coolent collector tank. Not losing any coolent. But after a hard pull up hill it will blow some coolent into the collector tank.

I was told by Eric at Browns diesel in California that 6. 7's running even a small tuner and pulling heavy loads will cause your problem. He said with your VGT it causes insain cylinder pressures down low and will pop a head gasket. He also said our Aisin transmissions only like 60-70 additional hp. Eric also said guys are swopping out there VGT for a non-VG turbo if they are running tuners.

OK believe it or not, the cylinder head torques are exactly same as 5. 9 which I listed in 1st post. I have removed the turbo tune and will be running normal turboboost preasures from now on. the tuner set on lowest. (mild) probably 40 Hp increas.
