At this point in time I personally will have a hard time believing that ANY programmer or chip is not in the long run going to have an adverse effect on the DPF. No matter what any manufacturer tells us, I plan to wait for a while to get some good milage and hard pulling on these rigs. I believe the DPF will soon give up the ghost. Good luck to you testers.

I hear you. Though I suppose it's possible to develop a box that would increase power to some degree by simply advancing injection timing, I think most also raise the rail pressure/fuel delivery. This would most likely increase soot levels. OTOH, the regen process should clear the soot. The long term durability of the DPF is in question for now, so I'd be reluctant to jump just yet.

I'd be happier to be able to have a bolt on replacement for the DPF that was a low restriction muffler combined with a box that would only advance injection timing. This should improve economy along with a modest boost in performance.
