Evening gentlemen in the eastern time zone.

I have been hearing and listening to everyone i get my hands in up here in canada.

do i keep my 24 valve 2002 or do i keep my 2002.

i want to upgrade so badly to mega cab with the 6. 7, but i keep here all them bugs out there. Lots of issues, or is it horseradish. (You know what I mean)

So what do my fellow brothers in cummins say!!!getting very edgy. #@$%!#@$%!#@$%!

don't let all the stuff you read scare you

you will always hear people complain about anything in life before they compliment them

I am going on 7k and am very happy

I know I made the correct choice. I think they have the kinks taken care of now.

i really have not had any issues to complain about. Just make sure you are very sure you are using Ultra low sulfer Diesel fuel i think most of the issues are from the wrong fuel. I refuse to purchase fuel from a mom and pop no name gas station stick to the name brands and read the lables on the pumps in detail.

I've heard the same from "other brand" diesel owners as well on newer trucks.

If I came to this Forum and read the posts on here I would have not gotten a 6. 7 truck i would have been scared. I am sure glad I placed the order for the truck before I knew about this forum.

My 6. 7 has been great it has never left me stranded yet(04 did). The warranty/flash process has been relatively painless. I usually know more than my dealer because of forums like this. I'm very happy I traded and would do it again today. Might go laramie though.

I love (note the sarcasm) to hear people who are lucky enough to get a truck with no problems bash owners who do, just because they have a misplaced sense of defensiveness thinking their truck's good name is being tarnished. I hate to tell you, but I exclusively use ULSD from reputable, high turnover retailers. My truck already qualifies for the lemon law here in AZ. I have had both a turbo and a particulate filter replaced. These problems are real, and people are not complaining just because they are malcontents. My truck has also asked for new oil every 2500 miles so far (of course it only has 6000 miles on it since it has been sick a good portion of it's life).

There is good news, however. When looking at these problems, you have to consider numbers - and while there is a significant number of trucks with problems, there seems to be many more without problems right now. There has also been some encouraging results from the dealer recently. The latest flash is encouraging. The replacement particulate filters are encouraging. Right now I am still having a problem with mileage (13 city and highway unloaded), but the performance is impressive, even compared to my 05.

Personally, I figure that compared with the risk of modding with a programmer while still under warranty, the risk involved with buying a 6. 7 is far less. Dodge does seem to be supporting us with these problems so far (it is a little disturbing when they start blaming owners for idling too long), and the performance of my '07 is decidedly improved over my '05 in all areas (save mileage, of course . . . ). I love this truck when it is running. I even like the front end now, and the taillights are growing on me . . .

My 2008 has over 11000 trouble free miles, purchased in August 07, just had the latest flash done and recall done, hoping for a little better mileage but so far as good as my 06, always have a trailer on the back and all highway speeds (fast highway) so i don't expect much more than I am getting (10-12)

dmaglov:

here on the east coast, my 2007 6. 7 has been perfect ( knock on wood) only back to the dealers shop so I could use the tire changer to install my snow tires.

I'm getting the same milage as my '01 24v gets. It's a great truck buy one when you're ready !

i had to lemon my first 6. 7 but i love the 6. 7 that i have now.

though you have a advantage over us here in the USA. you dont have the EPA standards. If i am not mistaken you can remove the DPF and CAT without breaking the law. H & S Performance is the answer to that.
