I did some searching and would like a confirmation on these part numbers. I want to replace the original stock steering box and steering shafts on my 2005 3500 4x4. These are part numbers I came up with searching through varies threads.

55351302AL Upper intermediate shaft
55351456AF Lower steering shaft
68170214AB 6-bolt steering box

Are these the correct pat numbers for these parts to fit up together?
Am I missing anything?
Is this simply remove old and replace with new, no modifications needed?
What is the recommended fluid for the new steering box?
What steering sector brace will work with the new box?

Thanks,
Marty

These are the parts i used.
68170214AA Steering Box
68034326AB Kit- pump and pulley
68034303AB reservoir, PS pump
68100252AA Bracket, PS pump
I had an existing brace that I had to modify.

I didn't realize I would need the pump and pulley, reservoir, and bracket. I thought everything was included with the steering box.

Ok, I won't replace the steering shaft, I don't see any play in it.

No issues with the original power steering hoses threading into the steering box?

Thanks.

You don't need anything but the steering box. I replaced the whole system. It's a newer, more capable pump than the original 04. All hoses fit so if they are good then they do not need replacing.

I just installed the box and the linkage, works perfectly fine for the last 100K miles.

No need to replace the pump if it is in good working order.

I replaced my linkage and steering box to the larger 2008 version and left the pump and reservoir original and the only thing that happens from time to time is the cap will blow off. I find myself constantly checking it and the times it has blown off I was able to locate it in the engine bay. I have given serious thought to upgrading to the 2008 pump and reservoir for that reason.

My reservoir was leaking all the time even with a new cap.
After I installed my filter assembly I had to lower the level in the reservoir because of the increased capacity of the system, since then it's fine.
I also added a second O ring to the cap itself.
