Just curious if anyone has insight as to when this option will be available. This is all that stands in the way for my son-in-law to order a new truck. Thanks

Thanks Fireman. If it's true, our local salesmen are not aware of it. Will do some serious checking and post what we find out. Thanks

The Mopar brochure usually lists all of the factory radios as dealer upgrades... problem is, unless you have the swap done pre-delivery, it's not included in the 3/36 warranty.

Personally, I'm not real keen on electrical upgrades by the dealer of this type unless they really know what they're doing - these days, the factory "computer selects" electrical components based on the factory option list, and the wiring may not be robust enough. I hear about lots of warranty denials at my part-time job (in the automotive industry) of this very type.

Thanks for the feedback. I checked yesterday with my dealer and first, it is not yet listed on the 'order computer' and second, he would not recommend one of his mechanics doing an install - better to wait until the factory puts it together. My son-in-law will wait another few weeks before making a decision as to ordering with the single CD or wait if an availability date is released for the 6 CD. (Waiting is the toughest part).

Just a thought. Has any considered doing an upgrade from a place like Tweeter's? Both of my son's have had installs done by the local franchise and they were very satisfied. They are as fussy as I am and they can actually hear the music!

I second this. My truck (and all the others on the lot at the dealer) had Karr security systems installed as they came in to the dealer. They add $500 to the cost of the truck and make you sign paperwork if you want it removed. Well, I had it removed. But, if you look under the dash it looks like the wiring was done by a 12 year old! Splices done with electrical tape using 18 gauge wire. Ridiculous!
