tuesday my truck went to the dealership because the #6 fuel line split in the radius just before the injector. the dealership said this is a common problem because the line does not have a brace to keep it from bouncing around. today is friday and i put a load (15000#) on the truck. during accceleration the clutch will slip. is this due to the amount of fuel that leaked out?(clutch plate soaked?) also i had noticed a shudder before this had happened. any input would be appreciated.

Fill out your info on the truck. year, model, gear ratio, mileage etc. To your question YES that it is possable for fuel to have soaked the clutch. But a shudder is or could be a sign the clutch was slipping. Is or did the bell housing get WET with fuel?

If it got diesel fuel, oil etc on it its ruined. The disc matierial absords it like a paper towl. If it got fuel on it it ought to be chattering and or slipping etc.

alright guys, just got home from work. drove the truck about 18 miles. it does not slip as long as you baby it. truck info: 04. 5 325/600, 410 gears, 6speed, 15700 miles,4x4 qc. the bell housing was SOAKED. the split was about 2 inches long when i had it picked up. the job sight i was on when it broke had the fire dept. come out and clean up the fuel after the truck was gone. (chemical plant) i think, but do not know for sure, that the dealership drove it around the parking lot before it was fixed. i know that they drove it after it was fixed but im sure they didn't put a foot in it, (the dealership was great and would recommend them to anyone). the problem is that i am now in carrolteen g. a. there is know way i can get get back to the dealer. i am sure ther is a dealer close but have not had the chance to research. as far as the fuel line cost, it was fixed under warranty. not sure of the cost. as far as the clutch "drying out" aint gonna happen. on the way home from work today i thought i try to make it slip. at the bottom of a hill at about 50 in sixth, turbo comes up, clutch slips and this is unloaded. i will get serious in the morning about finding a dealer. thanks

Yep its ruined. Needs a clutch. I'd call D. C. customer service and ask them to open a file on it just in case any hassel over a clutch as after 12/12 its NOT warranty. Be aware that it could leave you stranded.
