just put in a #6 tst plate in a 95 5 speed, would like to know what eveyone else is getting on boost and egts. Im getting 22 lbs with the plate, 18 stock. Also i think the govneor lever is wrong, the hieght is right on but the lever never hits the plate? Probably comes 1/16 " from the plate and retracts instantly, I always thought that it is supposed to hit the plate and ride on it for awhile? Any answers:rolleyes:

I have a TST #6 plate in my '96 auto. I can peg my 30 psi guage before WOT, but I think my wastegate is stuck shut. Back when I was stock, I always topped out at 18 psi, then one day it went right up to 25.

Hi, I have the #6 plate in my '96 auto and can see 30 lbs. of boost without any problems. I did have a 3k govenor spring kit installed at the same time but I don't think that has any effect on initial boost. I had the work done by some one else so I can't help with lever adjustment. David

jared1 - Did you install the boost elbow to the waste gate? If you did not, the waste gate is controlling you to 22 psi. You should be seeing about 30 psi.

I have the TST#6, boost runs about 30psi. Solo EGT has never been in the danger zone, however towing my 8K trailer it will easily pass 1250 pre-turbo climbing a long grade. Accidentally hit 1450 once passing on a 6% grade. Watch your gauges. Air flow improvements will help(exhaust/airfilter).

Make sure you hold the shut off soloenoid up when you are checking the govenor lever, if you don't the lever will come almost to the plate then retract.

TST #6

Isn't this plate suppose to be in a automatic, 180hp pump? I would make sure that your fuel shut off solenoid is pulled up when checking the gov lever. I thought the way i under stood that a automatic camplate in a 215hp pump would fuel very heavy down low?

I just installed the #5 250 plate and elbow and only see 22# of boost also, I wonder if sliding the plate all the way back would have anything to do with it? I have the AFC housing slide all the way forward like Mark said in the TST video. Can any one tell me what kind of HP I might be making with stock 160 injectors ? I for a fact, can see a BIG diffence over the stock fuel plate all the way forward. THANKS:cool:

I've got a 97 auto with a #6 plate and elbow. High RPM's see 37 PSI max and about !400 (for a very short period of time (1 second or less))on the pyro. So you do have to watch it a little at WOT but its fine even pulling loads unless RPM's are over 2500.

I have a 95 auto with the #6 plate and the 3K springs. The boost hits 34 lbs boost very fast and will top 1400 pre-turbo if I don't take my foot out of it. The plate is about an 1/8" foward. And the AFC is adjusted for smoke.

What kind of mods to your tranmissions do you guys running autos have? I have a '95 auto and have been worried that it would rip stuff up. What kind of fuel milage difference did ya'll see?

I have a rebuilt DTT trans (done about a year ago) on my '96. I get about 17-18 mpg mixed highway/city. Truck weighs about 8000#, 4. 10 rear, 285/75-16 tires.

I did the plate at the same time the trans was rebuilt. This was shortly after I move to WA from CA. My mileage went from 13-14 to 17-18 after the mods. Probably a combination of trans/engine mods, different type of driving up here, maybe even the regional fuel differences.

Thats what I have

IMO the #6 TST is a good moderate power bomb. Ive got stock air/turbo/injectors/exhaust -(cat ,muff)and a GSK. Think I get 26 # of boost. 225 RWHP. No real EGT problems. Runs about 1150* max towing up a good hill@70. Rammin On checked my governer lever adjustment and it was right on. Don't forget the GSK..... A1 Bomb.
