Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 6 speed auto

Just a little curious, has anyone ever thought of or tried to install a 6 speed automatic in a second generation truck?

Not that it wouldn't work but the controller would cost you more then the Trans would .

The newer 6-speed autos (Dodge & GM) use a controller that's tightly integrated with the engine's ECM. So far its a no go.

Yup, all the time. The conversion to install an Ally in just about any truck has been well documented. The drawback is it is expensive, $10k or better to do it right.

You cna bet the same proce is going to be assigned to the 68RFE conversion when\if it happens. Big road block is there are no stand alone controllers for the 68RFE like there are for the Ally.
