US-Gear E-brake...HELP!

2003 Gauge Install

ok, I am piecing everything together, and the holes on the adaptor plate from Blumenthal do not line up with the holes on the rubber transmission mount, as well as the piece to mount the exhaust pipe hanger. . Those of y'all who have done this, please let me know how to do it... I am lost!

I don't have any idea why the adapter plate won't bolt up to the mount. Mine bolted right up-probably should call Blumenthals-could be wrong part. The exhaust hanger was quite a challenge. Seemed that the hanger on the pipe pointed the wrong way. It worked fine with the bolt on mount for the 5 speed as it could be put on after everything else was in place. Only way I could figure out to hook up the new one was to heat the hanger-bend it out of the way of the transmission bracket and then heat it again and bend it back into place. I looked at this long and hard before I put a torch on it but finally figured it was the only way. Looked as if they could have have reversed the direction on the hanger rod at the factory, it would have made things much easier. Good luck with the swap-you will really enjoy the 6 speed after you get used to it and it gets a few miles on it Kenny N4YYX

I kind of experienced the same problem as the one you are having. I think that what you are saying is that you can't figure out how to get the hanger and the rubber mount to bolt up to the adapter plate. I had the exact same problem if that is what you are saying. The thing that I did was to take the exhaust hanger bracket and cut the end off with the rubber hole for the exhaust mount and then mig welded it on to the rubber transmission mount that I had. This was the only way that I could figure out how to get it to work. Then I had to fix the hanger on the exhaust pipe to get it to go together. Hope this helps.

Well, I am going to try Thaile's idea... there is no other possible way. transmission is sitting in the Garage, Clutch is on the way to Peter, and I dont know how the heck I let mom talk me into sending it UPS ground. it will not arrive there till Thursday, and hopefully I can have it here by Friday. I told Peter I would pay the difference, but I need my truck back this weekend. I have lots of cows to pen and haul off to the sale, and things are only getting worse! 3 gauge pod is IN, new transmission temp sending unit, and all the wiring is IN, basically everything is a go, just waiting patiently on the clutch! I will keep ya updated!
