Archived 6 speed problem!!!

Ok, I have not personally experienced this, but my father who mainly drives the truck said that it will pop out of second gear while he is driving. We have had the truck about two weeks and it has occurred about five times now. He said it does so rather violently. The truck has around 58,000 miles. Is there stil a warrenty in place on the transmission? Any ideas on what it could be?

That sounds like a bad syncro, but the mileage is very low for something like that to happen It's seems like that would be a warrantee item.
