6 speed trans makes noise in idle pos.

My 03 dodge 6 speed , makes noise in idle position , also when you push in on the clutch , the noise stops , is this normal ?

Sounds like a bad throwout bearing. I have heard of a couple of '03s with the same problem. Perfect time to upgrade the clutch, if you ask me.

Yup, it is normal. At least a lot of the six speed trucks are doing this. Mine seems quieter after I put a few miles on it but maybe that is my imagination. Anyone else find it quieted down after a few miles.

Mine rumbles in neutral. No other noises. It surprised me at first but I'm getting used to it. Did they not do this in the pre-03's?

Ours has a barely audible shaft noise at idle (you have to have the door open to hear it). Some are louder than others. One thing, check the oil level in the trans. Down just a little= more noise.
