6 speed trans shudder

I noticed today when I was pulling my trailer that when I let the clutch out it would shudder or vibrate for a few seconds when I put my foot in it to get going from a stop. any ideas?

Launch Shudder was a problem since the 3rd gens came out. Do a search for launch shudder and you'll probably be busy reading for a while.

If you notice 1st to 3rd gear shudder more than anything, I would bet you have a shot U-joint. I had the same problem on my 03 dually 6spd(junk u-joint) My dad on his 03 dually 6spd (also was shot U-joint). I just replaced all 6 U-joints on the driveshafts with greasable ones and had both shafts balanced. They were all out of balance from factory. The whole thing was only $150. Hopefully this is your problem.

If you can get a sight on the joints horizontally,lazer or three guys and a string and a plumb bob, they must be lined up that way also, I fixed my launch shudder by moving the center bearing 1/4" to the right looking from the rear of the truck. There is enough bolt hole slop to move the center bearing about 3/8" all together.
