How is everyone installing a temperature sensor in a 6-speed manual for transmission temperature? I talked with Diesel Power Products and they said that you don’t need trans temp. Does that sound right to anyone?

6 speed transmission temp

I replaced one of the stock PTO cover plates with one from Fabcraft Metalworks (800-208-8242). It comes with 3/4 NPT and a 1/4 NPT holes that can be used with any standard temp gage. Transmission temps run about 180 with the truck empty at 65 MPH and 210 to 230 hauling my 11,500 lb trailer. I was surprised that they got that high. The transmission temperatures actually exceed the rear differential temperatures until you get speed over 70 when pulling the trailer. Hope this helps. Ken Irwin

It probably isn't as nessecary to monitor the temps in the manuals as it is in the autos, but I installed Fast coolers and they have pretapped ports for a temp probe.
