That's the problem with the quieter trucks.
It's probably just normal differential noise. There were earlier posts where people tried multiple rear-ends and couldn't make the problem go away. American Axle released a statement that it wouldn't be detrimental to the lifespan/longevity. Just be sure your fluids are good, and ride with it.
Some people are experimenting with angles (changing via shims), but this is mostly to eliminate vibrations. It's also possible you're hearing tire noise, but I think this is more prevelant in the duallys.
