Everything I have read from the e-brake installations tell you to remove the two bolts holding down the rocker tower in order to change to the 60lb springs. Now granted I have not yet done this (springs are sitting on the shelf waiting for the right time!) but what would be the problem in removing the spring clip and thrust washer from the horizontal shaft holding the rocker and sliding the rocker out of the way after locating TDC? It would appear there still would be enough room to apply the spring compressor and you would NOT have to disturb the head bolts. Like I said I have not yet done it so have at me...

Give it a try and let us know how it works out. I know the suggested way works great but I'd like to know how your way works too.

Back to the top. I am interested in changing out the valve springs to. Hopefully after the first of the year I can purchase an exhaust brake (B-D, Pac, or E-Brake). So I will need to change the springs out to the 60# springs. #ad

folks:
Get the US Gear De-celerator and leave the springs alone. NO need to change them.
