I found a way to trim the ends but not the light portion. That allowed me to stick it to an edge on the tailgate with the lighted part reflecting down. I had to trim cause the welded tailgate hinge on the ends were in the way. The wire comes in on the side and almost doesn't move at all when operating the tailgate.
I love the Line of Fire because it's fully functional... . signals. . hazards... brake.
Dodge makes it easy by having a flat four receptacle under the bumper. On my GMC I had to splice one in. Another thing i love about Dodge... I broke my passenger side mirror. Cost $65 but it included the entire black plastic portion and blind spot... . included the heating electronics too... and get this... came with a photocopy of instructions. That maded my day. Had it in in 5 minutes flat.
I just figured out and got full LED tail light bulbs working too. The picture below is before the tail light LED's I did yesterday.
To make the tail led's work I had to dissasemble them and rout the wires differently out the ends... kinda like how those little Christmas tree bulb wires come through the holes... I had to rearrange them so they came out accordin to the wiring diagram (Dodge)
Then I had to put a load resistor on each bullb..... four total.
But...
I only had two 6 ohm 50 watt load resistors thinking I only needed them for the flashers to work. Ended up needing two more so I bought a dual coil resistor at PepBoys for Chrysler for $6. 00. It works but only 1. 5 ohms. Not enough resistance. Brake lights don't get bright enough on that side. I have two more 6 ohm resistors on the way.
They work perfectly... no "Bulb Out" light and flashing works perfect. If you guys want I'll do a detailed picture writeup. The third gen's are tricky cause there is no flasher.
I also put bright blue LED 194 bulbs in the license plate lights. Looks cool as ***** with the red reflections mixing in. I'll have to take a newer picture. The red dots you see on the lower part of the bumper under the license plate are only reflections from the bar above. It's wild because if you walk past the back of the truck they look like they are moving.
The picture below doesn't do the color justice. It's real red... not orange.
