Well I finally got around to installing my Aeroturbine on my 600. Also I uninstalled/fell off the truck,... my cat and stock muffler. Shaaaazammm!! B-4 I tell ya about the performance,... I want to let you know I had the '04 before I got this 600. What??? Yes, I know... ... . Anyway, what looked like a dumb As. decision is looking a little different right now. What you get when you take off that cat and muffler (stock) is a whole different truck. I'm absolutely postitive it gave this truck SOTP DYNO what feels like 20% or so more power and a major improvement in responsiveness. By the way,... I took off my VA duration box for a dealer visit I have coming up,... so the upgrade was totally responsible for the performance improvement. I also had the Vibration/droan with this truck. My vibration, due to other things the dealer did has been minimized by 80%,... I can live with that at least for now and as far as the droan,... can't hear it anymore thanks to the Aeroturbine! Whether I end up putting my Silverline muffler on depends on if my wife kicks my As. out of the house. I like it,. . she won't. Yes it's bullish! Deep growl-like sound and especially loud when pulling a grade in OD at relatively low speed. But man when you get on it,... music to my ears. Steady crusin' is ok also. My set up is like this,... down pipe (factory 4") then about a foot of 4" then the Aeroturbine and then maybe 40" of pipe to a twin tailpipe adapter to my duals. All 4" stainless with 5" tips. All pipe is Silverline exhaust. I opted for their adapter to duals rather than using the muffler that also splits to duals, however I still have it. Why this bomb?? I really wanted to see how much the cat and muffler was killing performance and also I wanted to check out the sound. This was a great bomb and the performance difference in this truck is night and day.

Just installed it yesterday and just filled up this AM. Will get back with you on this. It will be comparative however since my driving is 80% city, 20 HWY in normal driving. With that in mind, at least any variable will show up.

OT

Glad the mod worked so well. Mine is still floating in UPS land.

I swear they know it's a toy and don't want to deliver it.

Keep us posted on the MPG. Also, let me know what changes you see when you put the VA back on.

Who's the best source on the aeroturbine?

I HAVE to figure out a way to kill the drone on mine (5" exhaust).

The truck sounds phenominal outside, but from the inside if feels like your head is resting on a twelve inch sub that is highly powered and on a contant base note.

This is a quick and dirty. Per the overhead, it's about 2mpgs better in town, which is 90% of my driving soooo far on this and I did reset and drive it on the highway and it was about 4mpgs better, also per the overhead. I know all about the overhead but the thing is that it is relative against the overhead so the increases should be darned close to what I have indicated. Again, my major grin is not the mpgs although that helps my wallet feel better, but rather the sop increase is the real deal for me right now. I'm certain,... at least on this truck since I had the '04 HO that if you put both on a dyno and had apples with apples, i. e. both run with no cat, then you would see at least the difference indicated by their HP and Torq spec that is published by DCX.

I knew you would love this mod! The best thing about mine is it sounds awesome stock but with the TST turned on and towing or even empty my truck will flat a$$ turn some heads in town! To all others debating, off the kitty and get a good muffler and youll love it.

I dealt with dieselpowerproducts.com. Ask for Dave Meheen. They were great to deal with as I had the complete dual system from them on my '04 and then I went to the '04. 5 and it required some adapters, a piece of straight pipe and such for what I wanted to do in my recent upgrade on this thread. Everything went together like a glove. Also I know they sell Aeroturbine for different size exhaust pipeing and I notice you have the 5",... I wouldn't be surprised if that don't have it for your big 5.

How does the aeroturbine sound on the 600? I am thinking of taking my kat off and putting a aeroturbine in its place and also installing the smaller donaldson muffler. Anyone out there with that setup on their 600? I want it a little louder than stock, especailly when you get on the gas, but still want to be able to hear myself think also inside the cab. Opinions on the aeroturbine and donaldson? Thanks

Brad
