EDGE BETA TESTERS NEEDED FOR DODGE 600 EZ.

Edge Products is looking for beta testers for our Dodge 600 EZ box. This 600 Series EZ will have in-cab adjustability (a first for an Edge EZ) and 3 different power levels.

We are looking for a total of 30 Beta testers and hope to send Beta boxes out by late this week (7/9) or early next week (7/12). The Beta testing period is expected to last until 7/25. The requirements for Beta testers are as follows:

1. Own a 600 Dodge and be willing to really test it (long drives, towing, etc) over the next 2 weeks

2. Participate in phone calls with the Edge engineering team to get your feedback over the next 2 weeks

3. Be mechanically inclined and have the ability to diagnose potential issues with your product

4. Provide a credit card to pay for the product (Beta testers are charged $299, the product will retail for $599).

5. Due to confidentiality reasons, Beta testers agree not to discuss the product publicly until it is released

Additionally, we look to cover a very broad geography in our Beta test in order to test the product over a wide range of conditions. Geography will play a roll in the selection of testers.

If Beta testers are interested they can turn their EZ back in for a full credit against the Dodge Juice product when it is finally ready.

If you are interested, please email -- email address removed --

Lastly, since we rarely post on this forum, we would like to take this opportunity to apologize for taking so long on the Juice for both 2nd and 3rd generation Dodges. Dodge owners are and always will be our core customers and we have our most capable engineers working on this project. Certain supplier issues related to this product have mandated a complete product redesign, which we expect to have done this fall.

Thanks,

Edge Products

Juice for the 2nd gen?

Great something else on the want list now. :D

Hurry Mr. Juice we want it now... ... On another note what kind of problem were you haveing with the juice???? Oo.

considering that's their second post since 9-19-2002, I wouldn't expect a reply soon.

That said, it's great to hear the update from the horse's mouth... perhaps "Juice" will be a little more active on the board these days.

Even uncle bill at Microsoft doesn't make you pay for the BETA versions of his stuff. The offer isn't enough to make me risk my truck.
This may be a great opportunity but I don't see it.

Not a fair comparison... Bill's stuff is electronic, can be copied, and basically costs nothing but a 5 cent CD to give out free. Oh yeah, and after 90 days it expires and is worthless.

At least Juice is offering 1/2 off a physical product that you can't just duplicate electronically, and is even offering a full refund to upgrade to the new model when it arrives. Personally I think this is a great deal... it's just too bad I don't have a 600 to test it on.

Maybe not a totally fair comparison but... as with all betas, there will be bugs. So one would want the fixes for free at least. The post is only saying they will give full credit for price paid towards the whole price of a new and fixed one.

Even microsoft will give one copy of a product away if you'll be a good guinea(sp) pig.

I know, not a fair comparison but I hate taking what appears to be all the risk and not having compensation other than getting to say, "I was one of the first... "

I wish you had a 600 to try it too.

Because that would be stupid. He did say "SHOULD BE" not "WILL BE", indicating that the chances are lower that there would be a problem with the EZ than there was reported with the Beta Juice.

I would be all over this if I had a 600. Let me know when you guys get ready to test the Juice and Ill give it a real flogging for you.

You guys with 600s should tell them to forget it unless it is free, it only benefits them, ask them how they are going to help you out when one of thier betas smokes your engine. As far as the comment "the Dodge owners are and always will be our core customers" yeah sure 2. 5 years and 3 posts, where were the posts when everybody was asking about the new box for the 3rd gen, no posts then only when you want someone to test your product, communication with potential customers is all the time not just when it benefits the manufacturer. Get real.

We are very sorry if you thought that this was not appropriate we just thought that maybe the TDR members would like to be more involved in our testing.

Thanks,

Edge

Don't worry about it... some people are just not happy whatever you do. I say it's great to see a manufacturer participating on the board and offering such a great deal to their potential customers. Better late than never... just stick around and keep answering people's questions and you'll see their faith rebuilt.

I have to agree with Bert. If they want their product beta tested then they should supply them at no cost and agree to fix any damage caused by their product. I feel the tester is taking a HUGE risk. Of course I'm a believer in STOCK so you couldn't give me a box load of them for free.

Edge Products,

Most members on this board are appreciative of your offer to test your product at a reduced price.

Thanks for the oppurtunity!

I think your product line quality and reputation speaks for itself.

Guys, just for clarity:

Edge thinks the Second gen is the 1st gen. Edge makes no products for the 12V, thus the 98-02 24V is "first generation".

To them, the second gen is the first HPCR trucks, then the third gen is the 600.
