Well, some of you remember all I went through to decide on a new truck. It was my wife's irritation with the noise as we campered that did it in. The new 600 is more to her liking. I do need to tell you all that Big Bob from Idaho made a killer deal on his new truck a couple months ago at Dishman Dodge in Spokane with a unique salesman named Butch. Big Bob offered to help me make the same deal with Butch (came to $1100 under invoice plus $3000 in rebates--I spent $500 of rebate money for 48 months of 0 interest--sweet!) and then co-ordinated everything including helping me follow transit of the truck. It was ordered on 01/03, built 01/09 and in the showroom on 02/08--wowzer! Never had time to off the 02. Oh well, I can take my time swapping goodies. Incredibly, Butch turns out to be this transparent sweetheart who does not have a "line" in his vocabulary. Just straight-up customer service. Now, I am not "just off the turnip truck" but the whole atmosphere at Dishman, especially with Butch's straight-arrow manner put me at ease, IN A CAR DEALER'S STORE! They want to sell me my next rig down the road. If you NW guys want the same deal just call Dishman, ask for Butch and say you want the Big Bob deal. That is it and should be permanent. Dave Smith, lookout! geusterman

He gave me the great deal also but I could'nt purchase from Him due to my living in the great state of California. He's right up there along with Tommygun.

I can vouch for Butch as a straight shooter. I ordered a truck and gave him a $500 deposit. Then we all uncovered the California emissions fiasco and found out he couldn't order a truck for this silly state. Even after he found out he couldn't get my business he was still helpful. He recommended other dealers, immediately refunded my deposit, and was genuinely interested in helping out. I ended up buying from an Oregon "border state" dealer that could get the right emissions sticker but would buy from Butch in a heartbeat if I could.

What Wagner said :D

I constantly see Dave Smith Motors tags around the Tri Cities here (which is about 180 miles away!) and I keep thinking to myself "too bad they didn't deal with Butch"!

George,

It was a pleasure meeting you on Monday! I'm glad your new truck purchase was as pleasant as mine!

How was the drive home? You didn't mention it. Is the 600 everything you expected?

Bob, thanks for the kind words. I know that you do the same whenever you can! :D See you Saturday! Can you say BOMB PARTY AT ROB HANSON'S! Last year we had 54 truck there and more is expected this year! Yahoooo! Oo. Oo. Oo.

Hey there, Big Bob. Drove home in the dark from Spokane to Mount Vernon and didn't miss a lick. Stopped in Ellensburg for dinner and helped some Russian kids who burnt their clutch out on their little Mazda towing a car trailer with crunched small Chev pickup on it!

The 600 is so quiet it is like a car (until you hit a bump and remember it is a truck!). I feel weird in it. Like a sissy truck. Goes straight down the road. Weird. Quiet. Weird. No wind noise. Weird. No vibrations. Weird. I can hear the stereo. Weird. So I am ripping the box off this week and building a flatbed on it plus getting a Buckstop bumper and Rhino lining everthing including the rockers black (silver truck) to get my manhood back :D ! Oh yeah... . and put the Ricksons back on. Miss my manly, obnoxious ST HO 6spd. Maybe I could pull the drivers seat and sit on a bucket... ... . naahhhhh!

Thanks Big Bob. This is a dream truck. I will get used to being spoiled. Blessings! geusterman
