So let's get hypothetical here... If a guy wanted to put a 600 motor in a SO truck, what would it take? 600 long block, PCM?, what else?? If you don't know, don't reply. :p

Are you really considering doing this? If your doing it to get past the California emissions and keep your 03 truck with an California legal 600 engine, your looking at a lot of $$ to keep a truck body... Have your priced a PCM? Sure you could find one out of a wrecked truck, but then the engine, transmission, radiator because the whole fan set up is different.

Perhaps if you would enlighten us a little, you might get a response from someone who could actually help you...

Otherwise, hypothetically speaking, if I was the guy in the grassy knoll...

Ok, enough of the hypothetical BS... My truck blew up the turbo @ 17,000 miles, and took the motor with it. A new motor, turbo, intercooler, and PCM is 13k installed. Oh yes, my warranty has been denied. :p

Anyhow, the question still stands - what would it take to put a 600 or an '03 HO into my '03 SO?

WHY BOTHER

Im thinking a 12 valve conversion. mmmmm, stupid pump. LOL

 -:)

Sorry to hear about ur poor cummins...

The HO would bolt right on, the transmission bolt pattern im sure is

the same...

Any idea what made the motor let go? It may pay to look for a rear end total or roll over vehicle to get the bulk of the parts.

The answer to your question is:

- a new 600 long block, PCM, turbo, intercooler, fan shroud, exh and related hardware. And yes, it would all fit fine (assuming you have a 3rd gen).

Nice... All stuff I need to replace anyhow (except the fan shroud).

So the wiring harness, fuel pumps and injectors are all the same?

Any idea what comes on a Cummins long block?

I would take it to another dealer. A box should nout void warraty unless you for example tap wires on vp44 on 2nd gen... . that seems like they dont want to pay! love to hear the whole story!
