On my 05 it really doesnt start to pull until 2400-2500 rpms. The difference in power when it hits is amazing and i wish the truck pulled like that from 1000 rpms but it doesnt. The only thing i have done to the truck is made my own "tourqe tube", afe stock replacement air filter, TS MP-8 and a straight through muffler. I assume that the electronic wastegate is the problem and would really like to know how to fix this.

It already has one. TS MP8.



Landscraper, what elevation are you at? You already have a good start, but like stated above emmisions kills these trucks. The stock turbo will have the fastest spoolup that you can really get. If you set your truck up to handle the power you can stack diffrent chips (im not that familiar with the MP8) but you can put a durtion box with a pressure chip along with a programmer. It really wakes the bottom end up.
 
Well that answers that question. Im not really looking to make alot of power with this truck being that i work with it. Im happy with the MP8 box thats on it but it just kills me that it doesnt have the power down low like it does as soon as it hits 2500rpms. So i guess a programer to reflash the ecu should take care of my problem?

Mark, I just bought a EDGE EZ for my truck to "wake the bottom end up"



It DOES!!



Yes, I run this stacked with my other box.

I used to have the same issue with mine. Very noticable. It did it since it was new so I didn't think twice about it. I started running Diesel Clean and the power curve smoothed out after a few tanks. Now the power curve is very smooth. Since I started, I have not ran a tank without Diesel Clean. It would be interesting to see if the surge came back running just plain diesel.

My 05 had a flat spot in it also

My 2500 since new acted like it was lacking power until around 2200 and when you put your foot into it, it would take off like a blast and it sounded like the valves were rattling like a gaser with too much timing. I put a triple dog on it and set it to the first setting of tow/economy. Now it is smooth in ever rpm and acts like it wants to run like no tomorrow. Gene
